When we finally got around to watching Please Like Me it was love at first sight. Something that we find ourselves saying quite frequently, to anyone who will listen (and those who won’t) is - "if The Good Wife is as good as TV drama can get then Please Like Me is as good as TV comedy can get."
Seriously, if you haven't watched it yet do so immediately, it's a very special show and we were so sad when we had to say goodbye to it, rather unceremoniously in our opinion, when it ended in 2016. Seriously, did anything good happen in 2016!?
Though it’s a relatively new show to our cultural consumption it did make it instantly into our Top Ten All Time Favourite TV Shows, and ranked quite highly to boot!
Much like every other show on that list we seem to constantly be in a state of rewatch but as Please Like Me holds such a special place in our hearts, and as all it’s episodes are named after food, we thought we’d let it hold a special place in our stomachs too.
So, for what we believe to be the fourth rewatch now we’re going to review each episode and cook the food from the episode’s title. Great telly, great grub, what’s not to like!
We’ll be setting the table for the first episode, ‘Rhubarb & Custard’ very soon.
